I am amazed by those who run regularly. Often seen in the morning or evening after work, the 'runners' in sports clothes exercising around Jalan Sudirman, or in front of the office where the sidewalks are neatly paved. Frankly, running and brisk walking are indeed the easiest activities to do and almost free of cost, except for comfortable sports shoes and supportive clothing. The rest just rely on the knee and spirit alone. In the past, years ago to be exact, I was diligent about doing it on weekends , leaving my house to Gelora Bung Karno which was not far away. Five to eight rounds of brisk walking around the stadium are enough to move a body that only knows sitting and sleeping for a week.

But over time, the feeling of laziness became more and more dominant, so I finally chose to walk quickly in a housing complex near my house which was in a pretty neat, clean and not as shabby condition as where my house was. Every two days before going to work I take a 30 minute walk in the morning. After sports, the body feels refreshed, and ready to go to the office. But again, after a while, even this 30-minute brisk walk became a strenuous activity. The reason is, having to get ready with a t-shirt, pants and sports shoes, meaning that just about to leave has already spent time for preparation. Not to mention, in the housing complex many have dogs. Some were released to roam and some were inside the fence. In fact, the one inside this fence was begging for mercy, every time I passed, I would bark as loudly as I could, making my heart feel as if it would fall out.the doggy is locked behind a fence, but the shock that gradually turns into a soul emotion makes the spirit go down.
