Usually when I leave the MRT station at Bendungan Hilir, I will walk towards Dr. Street. Satrio, from there he will continue to take ojek, or public transportation such as TransJakarta and mini angkot. But since the detour under the bridge has been closed, there are no TransJakarta or mini angkots that pass by, so if you want to take public transportation, you have to walk a bit further to the bus stop. In the end, I always continued to take a motorcycle taxi from the base which had lots of parking on the sidewalk along the road under the bridge. I have a subscription to an ojek driver, his name is Pak Sobirin. The people are very nice, friendly and when the garden is harvesting he often brings me bananas, kepok or breadfruit. Instead, I sometimes give more ojek fares or souvenirs if I have just returned from out of town or if there is excess food at home. 

When Covid first hit Jakarta last March, the streets were extraordinarily deserted and many offices were working from home , ojek bases disappeared, including Pak Sobirin. Due to the pandemic conditions, every time I go to the office I choose to continue myself using taxis that pass a lot towards Dr. Street. Satrio from Jalan Sudirman. The fare for an ojek from Bendungan Hilir station to the front of the office is twenty thousand rupiah, although an online ojek is of course much cheaper. Taking a Blue Bird taxi costs a maximum of only ten thousand rupiah, but I always pay twenty thousand rupiah, I consider it the same as taking a motorcycle taxi. But the more significant difference is that taxis are of course much safer than ojek and more comfortable.
