Banana Sponge Solution: Turned into Banana Nuggets and More
if there is a term "rice has turned into porridge" for something that has already been done, then that's about the fate of my experiment this time. The plan to make banana sponge cake, in fact, actually made banana cake .
Honestly, when it comes to taste, this is really a winner...seriously, it's not because I made it...hehe. but when it comes to appearance, that's it. Starting from seeing the rest of the plantains in the kitchen, they were really ripe and maybe if you let it go any longer it might end up in the wastebasket... that's a shame. In the end, my beloved husband even thought about making banana sponge cake. It's just an idea, the execution part is still the creative team "Mama Badar Kitchen" which consists of two personnel: mother and 5 year old boy. .cook while babysitting
because this is honestly the first time, before that there was really zero how to make banana cake, let alone banana cake, never even had other sponge cakes... (so maybe I'm forgiven if the results turn out like this... heheheh). I had cheated on the recipe here and there, until I finally found the right formula, at first I really hoped it would turn out perfect like in cake shops...but sometimes reality says otherwise...hehe. Previously, this is what the banana sponge cake looks like that I've made :
so, what do u think? So that's it... I made this by roasting, if according to the instructions it's steamed, I don't know whether this will affect the results or not, maybe it could be too. There are several recipes that I have collected, including some that don't even need to use eggs, I was going to use the recipe without eggs, he said if you mix it not properly it can smell fishy as a result (a word that has often made sponge cake, you know,,) but no Can you imagine if I made one without eggs, I already used 2 eggs it would turn out like this...hehehehehe
I have a feeling, I made a mistake in the egg whisking technique, I should have beaten the eggs a bit longer and expanded, I'm beating the eggs with the sugar in a hurry, because the kid is starting to want to take over the mixer...haeh. Then in that recipe, the bananas are Ambon bananas, I use plantains, I just use them, the amount is also more, if in the recipe I only use 3 pieces, I use 5, because I don't want anything to be wasted. And taraaaaaa...the result is pretty good in terms of taste, but from the appearance it's very far from the word sponge, hmm...maybe it could be a kind of banana "brownies". Or the husband says it's more like the traditional "Bongko Banana" food.
Here are the ingredients and methods that I use, good enough to make the basic dough for some of the foods I'm going to conjure up:
Ingredients:
5 plantains Bulu (you can also Ambon)
175 gr wheat flour
100 gr sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 tbsp chocolate granules (seres, etc.)
How to make :
Melt the butter in a team way. While waiting, prepare the other dough.
Mash the bananas until they become banana pulp, set aside.
Combine eggs and sugar, stir until fluffy. Slowly add the flour that has been mixed with the baking powder and vanilla, while continuing to stir until combined.
Add melted butter then add banana pulp, mix with the dough, you can use a regular spoon.
Prepare a baking sheet that has been smeared with margarine and lined with parchment paper (so it doesn't stick with margarine).
Preheat the oven to 150 degrees using a low heat for about 30 minutes. Or it could be steamed, avoiding steam falling into the dough, covered with a cloth napkin.
dough is cooked, to be processed into anything (I can't say it's a sponge because it's tough...😜)
If there are mothers who have the same fate as me, here...don't take the trash can and put the sponge in it fails That's into it, after all, it's made with love and affection (lebayy..hehe), it turns out that we can turn this stuffed sponge into other foods that are more comfortable for the eyes...
Banana nuggets are really in season, I don't know since when can salty nuggets be turned into sweet snacks. so it's done. Btw, I haven't had a chance to take a picture of my banana nuggets yet, because I'm in a hurry to write a blog so I don't forget the idea. Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Basic banana dough (recipe above), cut into squares.
1 egg, lightly beaten
250 gr of
breadcrumbs 100 gr of wheat flour
Method:
Take the dough one by one, then roll it into the flour until smooth, dip into the beaten egg, lift and roll it evenly on the breadcrumbs.
Repeat until the dough runs out, can be fried immediately, or stored in the freezer, lasts up to 1 month.
The banana sponge dough can also be turned into chocolate ball snacks for school children, usually the raw material is biscuits that are crushed and then given sweetened condensed milk. Since I've run out of ingredients, maybe next time I'll intentionally make more banana dough, and I'll make this one for a snack.. hehe I just got an idea, here's how:
Ingredients:
Basic banana dough (recipe above)
100 gr chocolate colorful details.
Method:
Crush the dough to make it easy to shape, take a little bit and then form into balls. After that roll it in the colorful granulated chocolate.
Put in the refrigerator for a while.
If the chocolate is difficult to stick, because the dough is dry quickly, you can work around this by applying to the dough balls beforehand with enough sweetened condensed milk (if you don't like it too sweet, you can replace melted margarine, so that the chocolate granules stick to the dough).
Chocolate cola balls are ready to eat.
Maybe that's it for the first time, what is certain is that any dish that fails can be managed so that it doesn't go to waste, it can even become a new creation that you didn't even think of before, right? good luck!😍
