Vietnamese Beef Pho Recipe
Beef Pho is a noodle soup with beef broth, vegetables, sliced beef and served with hoisin sauce and sriracha on top. It is one of the best and most famous traditional Vietnamese dishes. The taste is light but savory meat broth is so pronounced. Beef pho also has the taste of fresh and aromatic spices like cinnamon and ginger. If you want to impress when you have an event at home with a different meal, beef pho is the choice.
Ingredients
- Beef ribs - 500 grams
- Brisket - 150 grams
- Water, for boiling 1 - 750 ml
- Water for the 2nd - 1 liter
- Seasoning Sauce:
- Garlic, crushed - 3 cloves
- Onions, long sliced - 1/2 pieces
- Ginger, thinly sliced - 3 cm
- Lawang flower - 3 pieces
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp
- Whole round black pepper - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Fish sauce - 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Serving in a Bowl:
- Wet kwetiau - 200 grams
- Soybean sprouts - 2 handfuls
- Basil leaves - 1 handful
- Sliced red chilies - 2 pieces
- Sukiyaki beef - 6 pieces
- Sliced lime - 1 piece
- Green onion, sliced - 1 stick
- Purchase ingredients and cooking utensils
Plans
- Prepare a pot of water, bring to a boil. Then boil the spare ribs and brisket to remove the dirt. Once cooked, wash until the dirt does not stick.
- Toast all the seasonings. Then add water, mix well. Also add ribs and brisket.
- Add salt and fish sauce. Cook over low heat for 2 hours until the meat is tender and the broth is maximal.
- After the ribs are cooked and remove the broth, strain the spices and set aside the rib sauce and brisket, then bring the sauce to a boil again.
- Prepare a bowl then arrange the kwetiau, soybean sprouts, basil, scallions, sliced red chilies, scallions, sliced onions and sukiyaki meat.
- When about to serve, flush with boiling gravy over the meat. Add lime wedges.
