Sakura Cake Recipe (bolu)
To make this steamed cake, you must prepare a special mold in the shape of a cherry blossom. The rest, this cake is very easy to make with fairly simple ingredients too.
Ingredients
- Granulated sugar - 250 grams
- Water - 250 ml
- Eggs - 2 eggs
- Medium protein flour - 225 grams
- Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Margarine, melted - 50 grams
- Butter, for greasing - to taste
- Wheat flour, for sprinkling - to taste

- Prepare the cherry blossom mold. Lightly grease with butter until smooth. Sprinkle with flour. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, cook 125 grams of sugar until it caramelizes. Pour in the water (don't stir) and let it boil. Remove and set aside.
- Beat the eggs with the remaining sugar (125 grams) until thick and fluffy.
- Pour the caramel into the whisk while continuing to mix on low speed until smooth.
- Add flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix well with a spatula.
- Enter the melted margarine gradually while stirring slowly until blended.
- Pour the mixture into the mold to 3/4 the height of the mold. Repeat until all the batter is used.
- Steam the cake for 15 minutes or until cooked. Lift. Remove from the mould.
- Ready to be served.
- 1. When making caramel, just use low heat and do not stir.
