Egg Roll Seasoning Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 90 milli liters of water
  • 1 block of chicken stock
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic 2 cloves, puree
  • Pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sausage 3 pieces (cut in half, each piece in quarters. So 1 sausage can be 8 pieces, a total of 24 pieces)
  • Skewers 24 pcs

Materials and Tools for Frying Egg Rolls:

  • Right amount of oil
  • A thick basket or a pan the size of a basket for frying (I purposely used a basket, so that the oil is more efficient)

The Process of Making Sate Egg Rolls Filled with Sausage:

  1. First take one piece of sausage, stab it into the skewer slowly. Make sure the ends of the skewers are flatter so that the sausage pieces fit in perfectly. Do it until it runs out, set aside.
  2. Put the eggs and spices in a bowl. Beat the eggs until smooth, making sure the mixture is not too thick and not too runny.
  3. Place a small pot on the stove, pour the oil to 3/4 of it. Make sure that when the skewer is dipped in the oil, the sausage is completely submerged.
  4. Next, heat the oil over medium heat until it's really hot. Then dip 1/2 stick on a skewer while still holding it, let it sit for a while until the sausage is cooked.
  5. Then with the skewer still submerged in the oil, pour enough beaten egg while stirring in a circular direction using a skewer. Roll quickly to the edge of the basket to help the eggs roll neatly. Once golden yellow, remove.
  6. Do the frying process until it's done. Arrange the sausage stuffed egg satay on a paper towel to reduce the oil that sticks to the egg rolls.
  7. If you like, you can cut the handle of the satay even shorter. So it's neater and not too long when served.
  8. Serve warm with chili sauce or mayonnaise according to taste.

Tips and Tricks for Making Crispy Sausage Egg Sate Rolls:

  1. Every time you pour the egg mixture into the oil, you should always shake it first, because if you don't beat it often the egg whites will settle to the bottom. Later the results will be less good, less nesting and also become lumpy and not crispy.
  2. This sausage egg roll satay recipe that is popular in Korea is a mini version, because 1 sausage is cut into 8 pieces, the result is a lot.
  3. If you want to make an even larger size of the egg wrapped satay, the sausage is enough to be cut into 2 pcs. And if the size is large, 1 recipe can make 10-12 pieces.
  4. For the use of eggs, you don't have to just use chicken or duck eggs, I tried using quail eggs, the results are okay. 1 chicken egg can be replaced with 4-5 quail eggs.
  5. If you are bored with sausage, the filling can be replaced with quail eggs or pentol meatballs so that the results are fat and plump.
  6. So for the stuffing you like according to taste, it can be boiled quail eggs, pieces of sausage, pieces of fried tofu, or fried tempeh. Or you can make it simple without stuffing too. Please be creative according to taste.
