Pandan Steamed Sponge Recipe
Pandan steamed sponge is one of the variations of processed sponge which is given pandan extract as an aroma enhancer. Not only for the aroma, pandan also provides a beautiful green color for sponge cake preparations. The classic pandan sponge cake is always liked by many people. Even because sponges can be made by steaming, anyone can practice the following method of making sponge cakes.
Ingredients
- Wheat flour - 125 grams
- Egg - 1 egg
- Emulsifier (SP or TBM) - 1 tsp
- Baking powder - 1 tsp
- Granulated sugar - 100 grams
- Liquid milk - 125 ml
- Pandan paste - 1 tsp

- Heat the steamer pot/cook until it is steaming a lot. Cover the lid with a washcloth/napkin. Line the steamed sponge mold with paper cups.
- Mix all ingredients except pandan paste until thick, for about 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 2 parts. One part of the dough, add pandan paste and mix well. One other part can be left alone.
- Pour the mixture alternately (between 2 types of dough: green and white) into the mold until it is full. Do it to the end.
- Put the steamed sponge into the steamer pot/cook, space between them. Steam over high heat for 15 minutes. Lift and remove the cake from the mould.
- Ready to be served.
