Hotang (hotdog Potato) / Sostang (potato Sausage) Recipe
Have you ever had hotang (potato hotdog)? This popular snack in the form of sausages on skewers wrapped in flour and diced fried potatoes is in demand by many people. If you also like hotang, or are curious about the taste, let's make your own hotang at home.
Ingredients
- Sausages - 6 pieces
- French fries - 500 grams
- Right amount of oil
- Skewer - to taste
- Dye:
- All-purpose flour - 3 tbsp
- Wheat flour - 2 tbsp
- Corn flour - 1 tbsp
- Boiled water - 60 ml
- Complementary:
- Sambal Sauce - to taste
- Tomato sauce - to taste
- Mayonnaise - to taste

- If frozen, boil the sausage for a while then remove and drain. Dry the sausage with a kitchen tissue, then put it on a skewer. Set aside.
- Cut the french fries into 1x1cm dice. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix all the dyeing ingredients and stir until it becomes a sticky dough like glue. Set aside.
- Heat plenty of oil over medium heat.
- Take 1 skewer of sausage. Dip into the dipping mixture until smooth. Roll into pieces of french fries while pressing and trimming to cover the entire surface. Repeat this step until all sausages and dough are used up.
- Fry the sausages in hot oil until they turn brown and cooked. Lift and drain.
- Ready to be served.
- 1. Use plastic gloves when working because french fries are very easy to separate from sausages.
