Date Cake Recipe
Besides being eaten directly, dates are no less delicious when mixed with cake batter you know . The sweet and legit taste of this fruit can add texture and natural sweetness to the cake.
Ingredients
- Dates, chopped - 200 grams
- Wheat flour - 1 tbsp
- Butter - 150 grams
- Granulated sugar - 50 grams
- Brown sugar - 50 grams
- Eggs, yolks and whites separated - 3 eggs
- Wheat flour - 125 grams
- Spekoek powder - 2 tsp
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp

- In a bowl, sprinkle the date pieces with 1 tablespoon of flour. Set aside.
- Beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the egg yolks one at a time, beating continuously until smooth.
- Add flour, spekoek, and cinnamon powder. Stir well and set aside.
- Beat egg whites until soft peaks. Enter the cake mixture above in 3 stages. Stir until well blended.
- Add the date pieces. Stir again until smooth.
- Pour the dough into a 10 x 22 x 7 tin that has been smeared with margarine and lined with paper.
- Bake the cake in the oven at 180°C for 45 minutes until cooked. Remove the cake and let it cool. Remove the cake from the tin and cut into pieces.
- Ready to be served.
- Dates cake will be more delicious when enjoyed after 'stay' or stored overnight.
