Asidah Recipe
Asidah cake is one of the typical Arab snacks which is also popular and is a typical Riau cake. Made from flour and various local spices, the texture is soft and melts in the mouth. Even though it's getting rare, if you want to try it now, you don't need to be confused. Follow the recipe for making sweet, fragrant and delicious Asidah below.
Ingredients
- Medium protein flour - 250 grams
- Brown sugar - 200 grams
- Margarine - 1 tbsp
- Water - 400 ml
- Cinnamon - 2 sticks
- Cardamom - 5 grains
- Cloves - 3 grains
- Toppings:
- Margarine, melted - 2 tbsp
- Purchase ingredients and cooking utensils

- Mix water, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves, boil until sugar dissolves and boils. Strain the water and cool.
- Put the flour in a bowl, pour some of the sugar water. Stir until smooth then add the remaining sugar water.
- Cook the dough until the texture thickens, add 1 tablespoon of margarine. Continue to cook while continuing to stir until the texture is smooth like lunkhead.
- Form the dough like a bowl, then press the top until it forms a hole.
- Fill the top hole with melted margarine. Asidah is ready to be served.
