For mothers and fathers whose babies are ready for their first solid food , maybe start looking for information about complementary foods. What's more, if it's the first child... I'm definitely very enthusiastic (I personally am new to complementary foods, especially homemade complementary foods for my 2nd child, but there's no word that it's too late... 😊) When it comes to complementary

foods, there are many types, ranging from instant and homemade , the homemade ones also have many more branches, there are WHO, FC, BLW, etc... MPASI nowadays is really diverse... It's not enough for children to give it as long as the title is porridge, that's it. But each type has its rules.

What is commonly and intensively promoted by posyandu cadres is the WHO MPASI and also highly recommended by the Minister of Health.

There are things to consider when making complementary foods in the style of WHO (World Health Organization), simply pay attention to: texture, type, and portion, according to the age of the baby. It is also obligatory to pay attention to how it is processed, it must be clean and the right way of processing it.

For now, I want to discuss the term 4 stars first, in the next post I will disassemble other WHO complementary foods.

In the past there was the term 4 healthy 5 perfect, now there is the term 4 stars. The 4 stars consist of:

Carbohydrates: rice, potatoes, cassava, sweet potatoes, corn, etc.
Vegetables: beans, carrots, spinach, pokcoy, etc.
Vegetable protein: Tofu, tempeh, beans.
Animal protein: poultry, red meat, fish, liver, etc.

Well, each star has a representative, right, after that pay attention to the texture, whether baby dede needs filtered porridge, team, or family food according to his age. Also pay attention to the content whether it is permissible to give it at the age of a baby.

That is, for babies aged 6 months usually can be given alpuket, bananas, etc. for 8 months old can be given tempeh, meat, etc. Lastly, don't forget extra fat, because babies are different ages from adults, they still need a lot of calories to grow, including those from good fats (olive oil, VCO, unsalted butter, unheated coconut milk, etc.). This fat is also needed to dissolve some vitamins such as A, D, E, and K.

After that, also pay attention to the portion, not too little or too much, so that it is not malnourished or even obese. This can be monitored every month when baby is weighing at the posyandu, as long as he is in the green zone, God willing, baby is healthy! So there's no need to be jealous of other babies who are fat, or sneer at other babies who are skinny. Just focus on your own children (personal experience, I think.. Hehe)

RECIPTION OF ABOUT TEACH porridge (Kangkung Chicken, TEMPE) MPASI 8+
like Mama Badar's Kitchen

Servings: 2

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons White Rice
1 tablespoon Multi Grain (I used Kombab rice )
10 pieces of kale leaves, cut into small pieces to make it
softer 2 pieces of tempeh, cut into small pieces / chopped (50 gr)
1 small piece of filet / chopped chicken (30 g)
500 ml of chicken broth

Seasoning:
1/2 chopped
onion 1/2 clove of minced garlic

Method:
wash the rice, then cook with broth, spices and multi-grain, cook into a porridge over low heat.
After the water boils, add the minced chicken and tempeh, stir until it almost turns into porridge.
Before it's cooked, finally add the kale leaves, cook again until soft.
After cooked porridge can be served, according to the baby's eating skills. For those who still eat filtered porridge, it can be mashed again with a wire filter/blender. If you are starting to get to know the texture, it can be given immediately.
