Sponge Ingredients:

  • 90 grams of medium protein flour
  • Cornstarch 1 tablespoon
  • Nutrijel plain 1 small sachet
  • Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • 3 eggs
  • Sugar 80 grams
  • SP 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • 65 grams of oil or margarine (melted)

Flavorings / Additives:

  • Mocha paste 1/4 teaspoon
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder (I use black cocoa powder)
  • Vanilla essence 1/4 teaspoon 

Steps to Make Nutrijel Sponge:

  1. First, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. 
  2. Next, prepare a clean basin, sift dry ingredients such as flour, nutrijell, BP and cornstarch. Then add all other ingredients except oil or melted margarine and additional ingredients.
  3. Mix on medium speed for 5 minutes or until the ingredients are evenly mixed, then continue on high speed until the mixture is thick, white and traily. (crested petruk).
  4. After that enter the oil or melted margarine into the dough. Stir carefully until everything is combined. (I use the fishing rod method. That is by putting about 3 tablespoons of the dough into the melted margarine or oil. Then mix well until well blended. Then just pour it into the original mixture and stir again until smooth).
  5. Divide the dough into 3 parts, give each dough with additional ingredients. 1 dough is given cocoa powder, 1 dough is given mocca paste, 1 dough is given vanilla essence.
  6. Then pour the three mixtures into the pan randomly or alternately.
  7. Bake at 180 Celsius, about 30-35 minutes or until cooked. (adjust to each oven, yes, because each oven is different in heat). Remove, cool.
  8. Once cooled, the baked chocolate nutrijel sponge is ready to be cut and served. Hmm sumiii!
