Review: Instant Seblak Mommy Flavor Rica-rica

( Seblak Mommy Flavor Rica-Rica)
Seblak, for some reason I'm very sure that this is authentic food from West Java. Although maybe now the spread is quite wide. And one more thing, in my opinion the original seblak is made from crackers that have been softened with water, and the main ingredients are garlic, cayenne pepper, and kencur. So now there are various fillings, from claws, dumplings, sausages, or whatever. if it's my version, it's not as rich as it is anymore...hehehe

There was once a story that the seblak was originally made because there were leftover crackers that were already tough in the jar, usually when they are tough, the taste will not taste good, so they cook it into seblak. but there are also those who say, seblak is deliberately made from raw crackers, snacks when children are together, for example friends playing at home or playing at friends' houses (hmm... the effect of watching advertisements for one drink often... hehe) .

I also had this experience, when I was in high school, when I got together at whose house, I would definitely like to cook seblak, since this seblak doesn't take time to make it, then the joint venture can be cheap to buy the ingredients, and strangely it's a big cauldron if you eat it together. it's always busy.. whether you're hungry or what you like

A few years ago, instant seblak appeared, wow, it's quite unique, what more if you take it with you when traveling abroad. This isn't an advertisement, but Seblak Mommy is the first instant seblak I've tried, and I think it tastes pretty authentic, I've also written a review about this Seblak Mommy Original Taste . Well, it's been a long time since I bought it, when I was browsing online stores, it turns out that now the flavors are already varied, one of them is rica-rica flavor, the other if I'm not mistaken there are four more variants. When it comes to the price, it's still the same, between 10 - 15 thousand, I bought it coincidentally, which was discounted, so it was only 10 thousand, buy it here..😜

Unfortunately, in my opinion, when I modify it to taste like this, it doesn't taste like the seblak food I used to eat when I was in high school. I basically like food that is modified, the taste experience becomes more diverse. but in my opinion, there are certain foods that are really suitable if the taste is original. one of them is blank.

Apart from that, maybe there are also those who like seblak modif... hehe so objectively I'm going to review Mommy's instant rica-rica flavored seblak. who knows, the producers will also read them to develop innovations.. (garep.. hehe).

In terms of packaging, I still like the way the manufacturer packs it, at least he uses a paper container which is covered with a little plastic so it doesn't seep (and I hope this is food grade plastic...hehe), instead of using styrofoam (how do you write it. ..the main point is that.. containers that like to use instant noodles). Great Job!👍

And because it tastes like rica-rica, the cover model also has women wearing glasses wearing traditional clothes (maybe Menado?), and I'm pretty sure this has something to do with where the flavors of these rica-rica come from. Eeh...when searching, it's actually from Manado..the famous one is chicken rica-rica..

In terms of content, there are as many items as the original taste, but this is added with a kind of chili powder, so it's not just chili powder. The crackers are as usual, they are half-cooked and slightly seasoned, because if I eat the crackers raw, they have a taste, not like the scale crackers I buy at the shop when I want to cook seblak. The rest is the same, it's the same, there's oil, powdered spices, dry spices, and finely ground cebe, and don't forget this cute fork (I don't often use it, because it's hard to eat...hehe)

When it comes to taste, so I can be more objective, I like to read the composition first, usually it's like that to judge whether the taste is really as expected. Actually, for chicken rica-rica, I really want to try the original from Manado, so far, chicken rica-rica is identical to Sundanese tongue. holic... hehe):

Moving on to the taste, according to the ingredients, it contains lime leaves, but I don't know why I didn't feel the tangy lime leaf flavor when I tasted it. Then, the taste of kencur is definitely gone because this is a modified edition (even though this is the taste I miss the most in a seblak dish), and what is dominant is the spicy taste, it's really spicy...more so than the original, what's the chili factor? big huh?

Then I guess I put it in and then water... hehe the seasoning isn't that great, other than the chili flavor which is dominant...😡. So, the lesson is, next time if you want to brew this seblak, the water is better (even though I've filled it with the recommended amount of water) and the chili powder is also a little... hehe the good thing is that the chili powder is not combined, so we can adjust the amount. this is the seblak appearance that I have brewed:

Look? the white and white ones are the chili seeds.. hehe so from a seblak perspective, this one looks prettier, because the vegetable seasoning is more visible. So, for Instant Seblak Mommy with Rica-Rica Flavor, the assessment is;

Overall Taste: 3/5
Spicy Flavor: 5/5
Portion: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Buy again: yesno /maybe
